Ipoh City Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin gave an “Executive Talk” to the employees of the Ipoh City Council at the Indera Mulia Stadium recently.
Also present were other heads of departments numbering in total some 1,800 people. The presentation was in line of the mandate for the New Year and facing up-coming challenges and taking opportunities to deliver proper services to the people.
He layed out seven targets to be achieved and to make Ipoh a dynamic city in the process. Among them are –
1) To make Ipoh the cleanest city in 2023.
2) Ipoh to be the one of the biggest tourist attractions (Heritage, Hipster & Health) by 2025.
3) Ipoh to have digital infrastructure and other infrastructure by 2027.
4) Ipoh to become Smart City by 2030.
5) Iph to be a Low Carbon City by 2030.
6) Ipoh to be a Liveable City by 2030.
7) Ipoh to be a Vibrant City by 2030.
“I would also like to show my appreciation to the staff and employees of the Ipoh City Council for their dedication and contribution towards the council.
“Our aim is to make Ipoh City as a benchmark for other local councils.
“Our role as a local council is vital as we are the “bridge” for the federal government to fulfill its aims and promises to the people.
“It should also be noted that the Ipoh City Council ranks No 2 in the number of applications for development projects after the Kuala Lumpur City Council 2022.
