Persatuan Kebajikan dan Kebudayaan India Ipoh Perak with the cooperation of agencies organised three events in a row to ease the burden of families celebrating Deepavali.

It started off with Rahmah Sales held at Taman Buntong Jaya on October 12.

On October 15, 10 students aged from seven to 17 were treated to a shopping spree at Mydin Meru. The youngsters chose their attire worth RM120.

Deputy State Assembly Speaker Jenny Choi was also present at the event.

On October  17, a total of 50 poor recipients received food boxes and a packet of rice worth RM130 for them to prepare for the Festival of Lights. The boxes include flour to cook cookies, sugar, cooking oil, tea and other essential items.

Association Chairman P.Palaiya said,” we want to bring a bit of cheer to the less  fortunate.Let them  celebrate like others..a little happiness to their lives,” he added.
