Ipoh City Council made the city proud after their Smart Traffic Management System project won the runners up position in the Johor Smart City Award 2025 Open Category (Government Sector) held in conjunction with Johor Smart  City Forum 2025 organised by Johor PLANMalaysia at Pusat Konvensyen Persada Johor on September 23.

The council grabbed second spot among 17 participants.

The presentation took place during the “Town Planning and Smart City Appreciation Night”.

The council was represented by engineers Ridzauddin Mohd Radzi and Izdihar Niszar Syafiq Sarlan from the Civil Engineering Department who attended the project debate session and also  received the awards.

The achievement proved the commitment of the council to elevate the smart city agenda through innovation which is capable of upgrading the efficiency of the traffic management.

It is hoped the Smart Traffic Management System would be developed and replicated to other locations for the progress and well being of the city.
