A corporate firm, Kuala Lumpur Kepong (KLK) continued with their commitment towards the community social economy development and maintenance of the environment through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program  in line with sustainable development.

KLK turned Education, Community, Surroundings and Work Place as the four  pillars of their CSR implementation.

This a commitment to enhance their role as a responsible and sensitive corporate entity towards sustainability.

The event was held at Halaman Goes Green Sungai Kinta located along Sungai Kinta on July 26.

The CSR program was held in conjunction with Perak Drainage and Irrigation Department’s (DID) Water Day in collaboration with KLK, Ipoh City Council (MBI), State Environment Department, St Michael Secondary School and DID.

Present were DID’s State Director Dr Asnor Muizan Ishak, MBI’s Landscape Director Meor Abdullah Zaidi Meor Razali and representatives from Government departments and agencies.

To make the event lively, the council contributed 100 tree  saplings to be planted at the Halaman Goes Green Sungai Kinta as a symbolic effort to green the city and maintain the environment.

This initiative supports MBI’s Strategic Plan 2021-2030 which encompasses Smart and  Well Being Community, Exploration Private Sector Based Infrastructure, Social, Economy and Environment.

Among the objectives of the program is to promote Halaman Goes Green Sungai Kinta as an eco tourist attraction, cultivate community services and concerned citizens of the environment.

To support the Sustainable Earth Perak (Perak Bumi Lestari) agenda by natural restoration in a sustainable way.

To encourage synergy between the  private sector and Government agencies to maintain water resources and biodiversity.

Such a program is a strategic cooperation example among the various quarters for the benefit of the people and then future generations.
