The Ipoh City Council hosted its annual Media Night gathering at the Ipoh Convention Centre last night, drawing a strong turnout from members of the print and online media.
The event was hosted by Ipoh City Council Mayor, Zamakhshari Hanipah, together with his team, marking his first official media night since assuming office. In his opening remarks, Zamakhshari expressed his pleasure at being able to engage directly with members of the media in a relaxed and cordial setting.
“This gathering is not only a gesture of our appreciation towards the media, but also an opportunity to foster better understanding and strengthen the relationship between both parties,” he said.
He added that the role of the media is vital in disseminating accurate and timely information to the public, noting that both the City Council and the media share a collective responsibility in serving the community.
The evening was enlivened with cultural performances, lucky draw sessions and a best-dressed competition, providing an opportunity for networking and camaraderie among attendees in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
