The Pantai Hospital Ipoh was recognised by Persatuan Architect Malaysia (PAM) for their excellence in architecture in the category of Façade Rebranding, (Alteration and Rebranding).
The new facade consists of a sophisticated architectural design that redefines the standard of health care. The new elements combines green building technology.
On hand to present the award was Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin.
He presented the award to the chief executive officer of Pantai Hospital Ipoh Ms Chong Siet Fong in a simple ceremony.
Pantai Hospital Ipoh has been serving the community in the city for the past 25 years.
Being a progressive hospital, it initiated a total re-branding exercise which involved a fresh approach to health care where we believe that your health is our number one priority and we always have your wellbeing at heart, so you can live the lifestyle you love.
The new façade of Pantai Hospital Ipoh incorporates the most innovative and interesting features of the green building technology and it facilitates the harvesting and usage of natural rain water.
This harvested rain water is productively utilized for the new planter automated irrigation system for the planter boxes that are installed in the different levels of the building.
Patient’s experience being of utmost concern, the radical design of the façade has carved out squares in the existing windows to have direct views out.
The greenery in the planter boxes is a refreshing sight from both inside and outside the building and promotes mental and physical health for all.
In addition, as part of the facade facelift, Pantai Hospital Ipoh has extended its front porch, thereby brightening its lobby by incorporating natural sunlight into the building.
“Although having an awe-inspiring look can be appealing to the eye, other factors which we considered when choosing our façade material included its durability, ease of installation, material maintenance cost and its resistance to chemicals.
“Eco- friendly facades and sustainable options are great choices when it comes to designing a hospital,” said Chong.
Meanwhile, Pantai Hospital Ipoh’s façade face-lifting has given the hospital a fresh new look and branding for the hospital.
