Ang Pow presentation to needy children

The Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) celebrated the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rabbit in the lunar calendar at the WEIL Hotel yesterday.

Present was Perak Menteri Besar Dato Saarani Mohamad along with Local Government Minister, Nga Kor Ming.

PCCCI president Dato’ Liew Chee Ming welcomed guests to the gathering and wished a Happy Year of the Rabbit.

“We would also like to welcome the Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Chan Ming Kai who is also representing the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.

“We are also happy to hold this gathering after so long. Under the leadership of Perak Menteri Besar the economy of the state is slowly recovering.

“Tourism to the state of Perak is also overwhelming and we are confident that the state will also draw more investors in the coming future.

“In 2023, the world economy is expected to face more challenges, however, we are prepared to face these challenges. In this context, China is one of the biggest players in the world economy. The opening of their borders and allowing Chinese tourists to travel will bring much positive impact to other countries in Asia including Malaysia.

“We also welcome Chinese investment in Malaysia in industries and also in the high technology sector,” said Liew in his address.

The event also saw the presentation of ang pow to needy children along with a grand Lion Dance performance.
