With more awareness among the general public on recycling and waste disposal, the e-waste disposal campaign in Perak is a commendable success.
This time around , a whopping 213.6 metric tons of waste was collected compared to only 44 metric tons last year.
“This success is attributed to the commitment of the 15 local councils, 25 corporates and three contractors who had made this a success.
“The gesture also shows the commitment and participation of the various members from the industrial sector.
“This campaign was initiated in 2019 with the aim of creating awareness on the importance of safeguarding the environment,” said Perak Menteri Besar Dato Saarani Mohamad.
He also urged members of the public to dispose of their e-waste to the designated locations in the state.
Saarani also reminded the public that e-waste contains toxic materials which can bring harm to the environment and the general public at large.
