A delegation from Perak State Government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad recently visited the city of Nanning, China to explore and boost the mineral industry technology and with the objective to make the state a hub for the mineral industrial development with the latest technology.
The visit also included a trip to the rare earth separation plant of China Rare Earth Group Co. Ltd (CREG).
Saarani in a statement said the visit to the city known as “Green City” is in response to the invitation by CREG to the state last month apart from to strengthen bilateral relationship between Malaysia and China.
“MB Inc as the prime mover of the mineral industry in the state will enhance strategic relationships in the use of technology especially extraction of rare elements in a safe and responsible method.
” The visit is meaningful as Perak has carried out a pioneering lanthanide mining project in Mukim Kenering, Hulu Perak district successfully which earned about RM16 million in royalties until last July,” he added.
The delegation was given a briefing by the Managing Director CREG (Guangxi) Rare Earth Co. Ltd, Zhang person Xinguang on site preservation after the process extraction of rare elements.
Also present were State Secretary Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, representatives from GLCs including MB Inc and technical agencies.
