With the sacrifices and hard work to keep the party strong, Perak MIC honoured 65 veteran leaders at the 79th state party convention at Tun Samy Vellu Convention Centre here on Aug 2.
Each of them who are aged 70 and above received a watch shawl, sandalwood garland from MIC President Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran.
A total of 18 wheelchairs were presented to the B40 group by Perak MIC Chairman and party’s National Vice President Tan Sri M. Ramasamy.
Some of the party leaders collected them on behalf of the recipients as they could not be present due to health problems.
Most of the recipients were from the community while others were party members.
The President also presented RM1,000 each to 15 SPM students who obtained excellent results.
Each of the 24 divisions were allocated RM1,000 to carry out their activities.
