
The Perak State government together with the Ipoh City Council led a delegation to participate in the 22nd China- ASEAN and ASEAN AI session in Nanning, China recently.
The program focused on exploring strategic collaborations in smart city development, digital governance and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various public service sectors.
MBI was represented by Councillor Wong Kar Keat, Chief WHIP of the MBI Councillors, who also presented on the topic of Smart City Governance, alongside Councillor Chen Jiang Cong, Zainal Abdul Hamid (Director of Urban Planning), and Ahmad Hafif Shahraman (Urban Planning Officer).
Meanwhile, the Perak State Government was represented by YB Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development.
Through the Smart City Governance presentation, MBI highlighted its ongoing efforts to enhance the effectiveness of city administration through digitalisation, smart technology integration, and the development of big data–driven systems to strengthen service delivery to the people.
In addition, business matchmaking sessions were held with participation from representatives of other ASEAN countries and technology companies from China, creating opportunities for MBI and the State Government to explore strategic partnerships in urban digitalisation, cybersecurity, smart healthcare, and technology-driven economic development.
This participation demonstrates the commitment of the Perak State Government and MBI to position Ipoh as an International Smart City, in line with the agenda of digitizing public services and Perak’s aspirations towards high-tech investments and future-oriented innovation.
