When you do something exceptional, you will be recognised.
The same applies to the Perak state government when it comes to forest management.
They have been recognised by the federal government and have given a guarantee to compensate the state for its good forest management.
In revealing this, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said that the quantum is yet to be known but the state will not make any specific demands.
“We are conscious of the constraints of the federal government and will await the outcome,” he added.
Menteri Besar was speaking at the planting of the 2 Millionth Tree, at the Sungai Siput Forestry Training Complex.
Also present was the Director of State Forestry Department, Datuk Mohamed Zin Yusop.
So far, the state has agreed to plant some 10 million trees over the next 5 years as planting trees will ensure environmental sustainability for the future generations.
