Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the National Family Compassion Policy (DKKN) and People’s Wellbeing Insurance Scheme (SIKIR) at the Institut Latihan Kementerian Kesihatan Sultan Azlan Shah here last Saturday (Feb 14).

Also present at the event were the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, WomenFamily and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Saarani Mohamad.

Various booths were set up to offer services and information to the crowd related to insurance,women,health screening and others. Officers from the relevant departments and agencies also briefed the people on the matters including insurance and family institutions.

The insurance scheme is a complimentary Shariah-compliant group term takaful plan sponsored by the Government to provide financial protection to low income households 

The scheme is designed for heads of households registered under tej eKasih database, specifically targeting the hardcore poor and poor categories.

The Family Compassion Policy is a strategic policy framework designed to ensure family wellbeing, resilience and protection across various life stages.
