It was another recognition for Ipoh City, as it’s Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud was selected as one of the panelists at the 9th Annual Conference and Exhibition Smart Cities Asia 2023 with the theme “Accelerating Preparedness Towards Collaborative Implementation” at Connexion@Nexus Bangsar South on October 24 and 25.
The other panel member was Johor Bahru City Mayor Datuk Noorazam Osman.
The forum entitled “From Vision to Reality: Mayors’ Perspective in Leading Smart Cities Development” was chaired by Chief Scientist and Chief Advisor for Digital Economy of the Sarawak State Government Prof Jugdutt (Jack) Singh.
The event commenced with the welcoming address by Managing Director of Smart Cities Asia & Knowledge Group of Companies Selva Nagappan on “What Is The Outlook in 2023 For Successful Developing Smart Sustainable Cities”.
It was followed by the officiating speech delivered by Local Government Development Ministry’s Deputy Secretary General (Planning and Sustainable Environment) Datuk Saidatu Akhma Hassan.
The event was organised by Knowledge Group of Companies with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) strategic partners.
Several papers and presentations were debated by participants.
