Bringing another boost to the tourism industry in Perak, SKS Airways flew its maiden flight from Subang to Pangkor yesterday.
On hand to receive the flight and its passengers was Perak Menteri Besar Dato Seri Saarani Mohamad, chairman of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), Dato Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry bin Abd Kadir; Director of SKS Airways Sdn Bhd., Dato’ Fahrul Rohman Ahmad; Executive Councillor for Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport, Mohd. Zolkafly Haron and the CEO of Tourism Perak, Nurmalis Musa.
Saarani also revealed that the arrival of tourists in Pangkor Island has increased with 52,487 tourists recorded in October 2021 to 95,514 in November and 134,808 in December.
“Various sectors like hotels, transport, F&B and others have benefitted with the influx of tourists.
“We are confident that Pangkor Island will further continue to thrive while also facilitating the state’s economic recovery. I also commend SKS Airways for facilitating the new route to Pangkor Island,” said Saarani.
SKS Airways will fly daily from Subang to Pangkor Island on the 55 minute flight duration accommodating 19 passengers including the flight crew.
