Being a caring corporate citizen, the TOP detergent brand has been mindful to help the Orang Asli community and their children around the country to be prepared for the new school term.
Under their campaign dubbed ‘Cerahi Kehidupan Bersama TOP’, they recently assisted some 364 Orang Asli children in Pahang, Perak and Johor for the 2021 school semester year.
They also supplied face masks along with school uniforms, shoes, socks, school bags, stationeries and books for every child.
The assistance is meant to motivate and also reduce the financial burden of the Orang Asli parents.
For the last five years, the project has helped some 2,500 children between the ages of seven and 17 from 79 Orang Asli communities, orphans and single parents.
With the cooperation of the Department of Orang Asli Affairs, TOP has managed to identify the most deserving Orang Asli communities.
Among the schools which received assistance this time around were children from SK Kampung Kudong in Bekok Johor; SK Pos Dipang in Jeram, Perak and SK Terisu in Cameron Highlands, Pahang.
In line with this project, through the partnership with TESCO and TESCO Online, a sum of RM0.30 cents from the sales of TOP products till Dec 31 will be donated to the Orang Asli community.
TOP will also contribute the TOP Super Hygienic detergent to every Orang Asli family to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the community.
“The TOP Super Hygienic powder or liquid detergent ensures 99.9% eradication of bacteria and also provides sweet aroma on the clothing,” said Ling Ai Li, Marketing Manager of Southern Lion Sdn Bhd.
Meanwhile, the Orang Asli Affairs Department director, Prof Juli Edo added that the covid-19 pandemic has also affected the Orang Asli community as they are not well equipped with internet facilities and other resources.
On their part, the TOP brand will be available with discounted pricing till Dec 31.
