Perak State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin binti Dato’ Mohammed Radzi hailed the response of holiday-makers to Pangkor island after the interstate travel was reopened on Oct 11, 2021.
The island has shown remarkable ability to emerge as the location of choice for local visitors.
“Data collected shows 78% of room bookings for 53 hotels with 1,156 rooms taken up from Oct 10 to Oct 17, 2021.
“It has shown a positive development towards the recovery of the tourism industry especially in Perak.
“Perak remains as the choice of holiday destination whether for individuals or groups. Perak has various tourism products that can fulfill every taste of visitors.
“We will also gear up promotions especially via #travelperaklah vouchers and will hold various events to spice up the tourism industry in the state,” said Nolee.
In the meantime, all of the SOPs will surely be complied.
In a related matter, members of the Malaysian Association of Hotels in Ipoh experienced a 50% occupancy rate. for 15 hotels in the city
