It was a great honour for the Perak Community Specialist Hospital when officials from the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) made a courtesy call.
On hand to receive them was the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Chan and team.
Being one of the oldest community hospitals in the country, it was known as the Perak Chinese Maternity Hospital since 1904.
Now, PCSH being a non-profit has expanded to 69 beds located along Kampar Road.
They also served as one of the vaccination centres for the Covid-19 vaccine roll out.
Meanwhile, the MHTC delegation consisted of its CEO, Mohd Daud Mohd Arif, Vice President Norhaslina Othman and Marketing Director (Indonesia), Farah Delah Suhaimi.
They were taken on a tour of the various facilities at the hospital. Among them included the PCSH Heart Centre and its 3rd Operation Theatre.
The new Heart Centre was equipped with the latest state-of-the-art Philips Azurion 7 when it first became available in Perak.
It offers more effective treatment options using advanced catheter-based procedures, enabling PCSH’s specialists to perform a wider range of minimally invasive diagnostic and Interventional Cardiovascular procedures such as Coronary Angiogram (CA), Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) in a patient-focused environment.
The new and well-equipped 3rd Operation Theatre enables PCSH to shorten the waiting list for surgical procedures, thereby providing better and speedier service to their patients.
PCSH has also built a new six-storey building adjacent to the existing block.
This new block comprises many new features including 75 beds (both single and double bedders), 26 new consultant suites, a new Imaging Centre with a new MRI Machine, CT scan and Fluoroscopy Machine, a new pharmacy, admission department, lobby and International Patient Lounge, among others.
