Motorists in Ipoh have been advised to monitor the latest announcements on repair and related work which are being carried out at Jalan Tun Abdul Razak bridge from October 14 and will go on until January 6, 2026.

The repair work is the council’s continued maintenance to ensure the structure is safe and stable and comply with the  technical standards. 

Vehicles can still use the road until October 30 when the road would be fully closed.

The affected roads are Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Tun Perak and Jalan Persiaran Kidd.

A media statement from the council noted it had arranged alternative routes to ease the traffic jams in the city centre, Jalan Lahat,Buntong, Silibin and Falim.

The public had been  advised to plan their journey early and follow official  announcements from the council and mass media as well as the council’s social media.

The council had assured the public that the work would be carried out as scheduled and adhere to all safety aspects to avoid risks to road users.

The council also thanked the city residents for their cooperation and support for the implementation of the project.

The project is a commitment to ensure infrastructures in the city are at the highest level in line with aspirations of Smart City and Low Carbon 2030 and Perak Sejahtera 2030 concepts.
