The Perak state government provided RM1.8 million assistance to Chinese private schools in the state.
Among the recipients were Shen Jai High School, Ipoh, Poi Lam High School, Ipoh, Yuk Choy High School, Ipoh, Pei Yuan High School, Kampar, Hua Lian High School, Taiping, Yik Ching High School, Pantai Remis, Nan Hwa High School, Ayer Tawar, San Min Secondary School, Teluk Intan and Tsung Wah Secondary School, Kuala Kangsar.
“This aid is in view of the Covid-19 pandemic which has affected the cash flow of these private schools,” Menteri Besar Dato Saarani Mohamad
He also added that the state had allocated some RM8.1 million under the 2021 state budget for vernacular, national, Islamic mission schools.
He also disclosed that each of the schools will receive RM200,000 which will benefit some 10,000 teachers and students.
Also present was the Executive Councillor for Education, Higher Education and Human Resource, Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud.
