Econsave supermarket came forward again to ensure school going children would be well equipped when the school term starts on Monday.(Jan 12).

This time around the Bercham branch  gave out a RM1,000 voucher for a family to pick their school necessities.

Anissofia Abd Aziz, 27, a housewife from Manjoi came to the supermarket with her four children.

They were accompanied by the  supermarket manager V.Rakesh and staff to assist them to purchase the items including bags, uniforms, shoes and other items under the Back to School Programme.

Rakesh said:”As part of the CSR programme we want to give back to society who had supported us all these years. We will continue with our programme  to help those who need assistance,”he added.

Meanwhile Annissofia thanked the supermarket for easing their financial burden.

“I am not working while my husband is a labourer and at times there are no jobs. Then he had to take up odd jobs like grass cutting to make ends meet,”she added.

One of her daughters, Ainul Nashua Ahmad Royzailye, a Form Two student from SMK Jelapang Jaya said: “We are happy that this time around we got new uniforms.

“Compared to last year we had to depend on people making donations. This time around we get to pick and choose our items.

“The contribution will definitely ease the financial burden of my father who is the sole breadwinner in the family,” she added.
