Econsave, Malaysia’s largest chain of supermarkets, continued to assist  school children from the B40 group with uniforms and other educational aid under the Back to School programme.

The branch in Ampang Baru here gave out vouchers worth RM100 to 30 pupils from SK Raja Chulan to purchase their items.

The children went about the supermarket accompanied by their parents and staff to pick their uniforms, pencils,shoes and other needs.

General Manager of Econsave Northern 2 , Ms Tey Li Yung  said: “This is part of our CSR to help people who need assistance.

“The public supports us by shopping and now we want to give  back from our profits. We will continue with our CSR programme to help the less fortunate.

“It will also continue during the festive season this year to ease the burden of those celebrating the festivals,” she added.

Apart from assisting the public over the years Econsave had also distributed aid to flood victims.

She noted since Econsave operates in all states,victims of natural disasters also receive assistance.
