The Raja Ashman Shah Academy completed a successful course for hockey coaches, umpires and officials at the Tower Regency Hotel in Ipoh recently.

The seminar was run in tandem with the on-going Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2024 in the city.

Present was Dato Abdul Rahim Mohd Ariff, chairman of Raja Ashman Shah Academy along with Mike Joyce, Head of Education & Development FIH, Seigfried Aikman, Michel Kinnen, Jenny King, Zahid Ali, Ravinderpal Singh among others.

In all more than 50 participants from various parts of the world participated in the session.

The participants were from South Africa, United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Ireland,  Netherlands, Hong Kong, Barbados, Malaysia, Kenya, Australia, Barbados, India, Pakistan, Oman to name a few.

The course was endorsed by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the Asian Hockey federation (AFH).

Successful candidates were presented with participation certificates.   

Syabas to the organising committee as the event also served to promote Ipoh and Perak as a destination for sports tourism.
