The Indera Mulia Stadium and the Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah in Bandar Meru Raya are slotted to be the drive-through vaccination centres to boost the daily vaccination in Ipoh.

Kinta district has the largest concentration of population in the state.

“We are confident to increase vaccination by 800 to1,500 daily with these two new facilities.

“The move will eventually help create herd immunity among the local population in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Saarani Mohamed.

He also added that the state government had set a target of 15,000 daily jabs in Perak this month compared to the average of 8,000 daily shots last month.

Meanwhile, the state government had also asked the Perak State Development Corporation, through its subsidiary Majuperak Holdings Bhd, to directly purchase vaccine supplies from Pharmaniaga.
