The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has denied any active collaboration and cooperation with Ipoh Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA).
In a media statement issued on July 25 the council has not allowed the society to use its logo or symbol or emblem in any of their promotions without prior written permission.
A one minute 38 secs short video had been uploaded in the Facebook for their promotion on stray animal management programme which included a trap-neuter-release manage (TNRM) initiative involving use of red collars.
The video gave a misleading public information that MBI is still involved in the programmes.
The council has immediately issue a directive to the society to remove it’s logos on all promotions platforms and social media and the society is prohibited to use the symbols without approval.
MBI warned legal action can be taken against anyone who use the council’s identification visual without official approval.
The public have been advised to access the correct official information from the council to avoid confusion.
Meanwhile, ISPCA President Ricky Soong said: “the video was actually from 2018 when the society and the council worked together.
“We have a support letter from the council..the video in question from 2018 but the council issued the statement today,” he added.
Soong stressed he never claimed ISPCA of being still in collaboration with the council an shared the video solely because it was a simple way to explain TNRM.
He also noted no official directive has been received from the council demanding the removal of the social media content featuring their logo.
