To ensure economic continuity and safeguard the welfare of traders, the Pasir Puteh Temporary Market was built with the objective of providing comfortable, clean, and safe temporary facilities, benefiting more than 26,000 residents of Mukim Ipoh and Ulu Kinta, as well as 710,798 residents of Ipoh City (Source: Kinta District and Land Office).
The construction project began on 15 October 2024 and was completed on 29 July 2025, with an implementation period of nine months and a total cost of RM1,425,000.00.

Of the RM1,425,000.00 allocation, RM1,000,000.00 came from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), while the remaining RM425,000.00 was funded by the Ipoh City Council (MBI).
The project scope included the installation of a 30m x 35m reusable marquee tent; provision of trading spaces by category (wet goods, dry goods, retail, and ready-to-eat food); construction of public facilities such as toilets, parking areas, drainage systems, and area lighting; as well as the installation of electrical fittings and other support facilities to ensure comfort for both traders and visitors.
Meanwhile, The implementation of the Madani Recreational Park (TRM) is part of the MADANI Government’s initiative to enhance the quality of life of the people through the provision of green spaces and inclusive public recreational areas.
In 2024, the Ipoh City Council received an allocation of RM5.4 million from the Department of Local Government (KPKT) to develop 12 TRM sites around Ipoh City, with each park costing RM450,000.00. The project began at the end of 2024 and was fully completed in July 2025.
For TRM @ Boon Bak, construction works began on 14 October 2024 and were completed on 3 February 2025, with an implementation period of 16 weeks and a total cost of RM450,000.00.
The facilities provided include children’s playground equipment and an outdoor gym, walkways and jogging tracks, park furniture such as benches and shaded rest areas, an open plaza for community activities, as well as the refurbishment of goalposts and safety barriers.
The main objectives of developing TRM are to provide leisure and recreational spaces for all segments of society, promote a healthy and active lifestyle, strengthen local community social networks, and enhance landscaping and beautification efforts to create a more cheerful environment.
The Ipoh City Council urges all members of the public to use TRM facilities responsibly, avoid vandalism, and instill appreciation for public property among the younger generation.
Cooperation from all parties — at home, in schools, public spaces, and within community leadership — is crucial to ensure that these public amenities remain in good condition and can be enjoyed by everyone without incurring additional maintenance costs.
KPKT and MBI remain committed to continuing the implementation of inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous community development initiatives, in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations.
